Restylane®

Description: Restylane® is designed to smooth wrinkles, sculpt lips and shape facial contours. It is a clear, synthetic gel made with hyaluronic acid, a natural substance that is found throughout your body. It carries little risk of allergic reaction. The most common areas for treatment are the glabellar lines (between the eyebrows) and the nasolabial folds (from the root of the nose to the angle of your mouth). With its unique ability to bind with water, Restylane remains in your skin for many months.

What to Expect: Restylane is injected into the skin in small amounts using a very fine needle.  The gel provides hydration and structure and gives the natural volume to smooth away the appearance of lines, enhance facial shape, or create fuller lips.  The treatment is very quick and often takes less than 30 minutes. The treatment benefits can normally be seen instantly and Restylane does not affect facial expression. You can expect slight redness, swelling, tenderness, itching, and or bruising following a treatment. Discomfort is temporary and generally disappears after a few days.  With lip enhancement, it is wise to choose your treatment time with care since your lips may become swollen and appear slightly uneven for a few days.

Expected Final Outcome: One of the great advantages of Restylane is that the effects are long lasting but not permanent.  You are always in control of your looks.  A follow-up appointment is usually recommended 2 weeks after treatment to see ifany touch-ups are needed. A Follow-up treatment is normally recommended in about 6-12 months.

Enhanced Skin Rejuvenation

Description: The natural consequences of aging on our skin include sun damage, freckles, age spots, acne scarring, enlarged pores, and redness caused by broken capillaries and rosacea. Photo rejuvenation reduces these signs of aging using non-invasive, painless pulses of light. Treatments can also improve the appearance of birthmarks and uneven pigmentation and stimulate the production of collagen. There is no recovery time and low risk of complications. The entire face is treated with 532 and 1064 laser wavelengths, each one designed to target a specific layer of the skin.  The 532 wave length treats age spots and sunspots along with facial vessels.  The 1064 wavelength causes collagen stimulation, which helps cause wrinkle reduction.

Expected Final Outcome: A lessening of undesired facial spots, wrinkles and sun damaged skin should be apparent after the first treatment but 4 to 6 treatments are recommended for best results.

Laser Treatment for Acne

Description: Using Laserscope’s FDA cleared green laser, light is delivered through the skin’s surface triggering the body’s natural bacteria-fighting defenses.  These defenses kill the problem-causing bacteria, significantly reducing the severity of current and future breakouts.  Acne is a common skin condition resulting from clogged sebaceous glands, which lead to blocked pores. In recent years, lasers have been proven to be very effective in the treatment of acne. The laser light is absorbed by water underneath the skin, shrinking oil glands, killing bacteria, and eliminating acne.

What to Expect: The laser pulse may feel like the snap of a rubber band against the skin.  Your face may appear slightly red or swollen for the next few hours or days, which are expected signs that the skin is responding to the laser treatment.

Expected Final Outcome:  Clinical data suggests that most patients find their acne will improve after the completion of about four treatments.   Suggested schedule is two consecutive weeks of treatments.  Many patients continue to improve in the months following treatment, though some patients may need to repeat treatments for maintenance.
