Hair Removal

Description: A safe and effective way to reduce undesirable hair anywhere on the body and face.  Laserscope technology is FDA cleared for permanent hair reduction on all skin types, including very fair skin and olive or African American skin.  Fine hair is very difficult to treat. Blonde, red, white, and gray hair cannot be treated.

What to Expect: Most patients feel a warm sting as the laser penetrates the hair follicle.  This discomfort is minimized with a combination of cool gel and a cooled sapphire window located on the Laserscope system.

Expected Final Outcome: Laser treatments impair the growth capacity of the hair follicles in their active growth stage. Not all follicles are active at the same time: therefore, it will take multiple treatments to obtain desirable results.

Leg Veins

Description: The laser light is delivered through the skin and into the vein.  After heating, the vein walls collapse and seal shut.  The sealed vein is then broken down and absorbed by the body.

What To Expect: For comfort, a topical anesthetic will be applied before treatment.  Patients describe the sensation of the laser pulse as a “snap of a rubber band on their skin.”  The veins being targeted are viewed through a specialized lens, which aids the physician in locating the “feeder veins” so that only the necessary pulses from the laser take place.

Expected Final Outcome: The process usually takes one to three treatments.  Amount of treatments depends on many different variables, size, color of the veins, and skin type are of most importance.  Vessels may take up to twelve weeks to fade after each treatment.

Skin Tag Removal

Description: Skin tags occur most frequently on the eyelid, face, neck, and underarm. There is no way to prevent skin tags, but they are not cancerous and have no long-term negative effects.  Using the laser light, we can safely remove skin tags on your face, neck or body.

What to Expect: The Laser is used over the area for a quick and effective solution to skin tags.  There is no down time, little to no scarring, however the treated area could be sensitive for a few days.

Expected Final Outcome: Patients usually find their skin tag has been successfully removed.  Depending on the size and location more than one treatment may be necessary.
